Tygblöjeuppdatering / Cloth nappie update

Nu när vi har använt tygblöjorna ett tag tänkte jag komma med en liten uppdatering.
Vi använder fortfarande engångsblöjor ibland på nätterna när allt-i-ett-blöjorna, de 2 vi har i dagsläget, inte är rena, eller när vi är på resande fot.
Däremot använder vi alltid tygisarna när vi är hemma, och har kommit in i rutinerna kring det. Vi tvättar ungefär varannan dag, och det mest för att vi inte har tillräckligt många extra inlägg. Detta ska dock införskaffas snarast.
I början fick Andrew väldigt röd rumpa, och nästan flagnade för att den blev så torr. Detta är dock helt borta nu, och han har sedan dess inte haft minsta tillstymmelse till röd stjärt.
Blöjorna sitter bra, men kardborren kan ibland hamna så att den skaver mot låret. Vi måste vara noggranna med hur vi fäster blöjorna. Eftersom även blöjbyxorna är begagnade är kardborren lite utnött och sitter på vissa ställen inte jättebra. Tror dock inte att det skulle vara minsta problem med nya blöjbyxor. Det finns andra modeller med kanppar istället för kardborre som jag gärna skulle prova.
Rispapper i blöjorna är ett måste, tro mig - det är inte särskilt roligt att skrapa bort bajs från tyget. Med rispapper är problemet lätt löst, och hela härligheten spolas ner.
Visst är det ett visst merarbete med tygblöjor; de ska sköljas ur efter användning och sedan tvättas, vikas osv, men ändå mycket mindre betungande än vad jag trott innan. Och jag gör tusen gånger hellre detta lilla extrajobb än att jag fyller upp soptunnan med engångsblöjor! Det beror helt enkelt på vilka prioriteringar man gör i livet.
Önskar nu att jag börjat långt tidigare med tygblöjor!

Thought I'd give you an update now that we've been using the cloth nappies for a while. We still use the disposable nappies when out and about a lot, or during the night if the all-in-one cloth nappies are dirty. (We only have two of those at the moment)
When we're at home we use only the cloth nappies, unless he's running around naked (which happens a lot now during the summer) and have got the hang of it. We wash every other day, mostly because at the moment we don't have enough extra inlays. We'll be buying more of those though. 
To start off with, Andrew's bottom was really red and flaky. This all gone now though, and he's not had a teensy bit of redness since then. 
In all the nappies have got a really good fit. The one thing that annoys me at times is the velcro on the nappy pants that, if we're not careful, can end up chafing his thigh a bit. There are models with buttons that I'd really like to try.
Also, because they are second hand, the velcro is a bit worn at places, and if fastened the fit is not quite as good. Don't think this is a problem at all with new nappy pants though. 
The rice paper that we use closest to the skin is a must! Believe  me, scraping poo off of the fabric is not my idea of fun! With the rice paper this problem is easily solved though, and the whole delight can be flushed down the toliet. 
There is a certain amount of extra labour involved in cloth nappies for sure; rinsing after use, washing, drying, folding... But, I have to say, it is not at all as bad as I'd imagined it before I started. 
I'd much rather do all this, than filling up the bin with the disposable ones! It is all down to what we prioritize in life!
I really do wish we'd started using cloth nappies much sooner!
