After a full nights sleep I was woken up at twenty past five and thought it was quite alright to get up. Andrew and I tiptoed down the stairs and into the kitchen to make a bottle of välling, and cuddled up on the couch for a lazy cuddly morning. We watched some tv, and must have fallen asleep cause before I knew it, it was past eight and the dogs were busting for a mornign wee. Got ourselves dressed and went outside with the dogs and as usual we were on the lookout for birds. Much to his dissapointment there weren't many birds around, but when we got back a nice soul had put a fresh loaf of tomato bread on the kitchen table. Yummy!!
On out morning walk, Andrew and I decided that today was the day for a pic-nic. Not that the weather great, but decent enough.
As soon as the rest of bunch were awake we got ourselves organized with egg sandwiches (a must), hot chocolate (what else?), some biscuits and bread for the ducks.
In my mind I thouht the walk would take us roughly 20 minutes, but as usual I was a bit off the mark. My problem is that I base my calculations on me walking the dogs at my normal pace, which as you know is...brisk.
This walk, including 11kg's of child on my back, a father-in-law with buggered shoulders (carrying the back pack with the food), a husband with a buggered back and a whole load of ice took at least twice the time. And once we got there, there were only 3 poxy ducks there who just didn't get the whole idea of us feeding them and fled in the opposite direction.
But at least the sandwiches and the hot chocolate were lovely!
We choose the totally ice free cycle path for our walk home...
